Your personal task list
For: anyone with open work assigned to them in Stacktic. Takes about 4 minutes.
What this page is
/my/tasks is everything currently on your plate in Stacktic, in one place. It holds three different kinds of work:
- Offboarding tasks: you're the owner responsible for removing someone's access to a tool.
- Signals assigned to you: conditions Stacktic flagged that need a person to look at them, such as a missing owner, stale access, or an expiring credential.
- Requests waiting on you: an approval or a manual setup step that someone's access or new-tool request has sent your way.
Before this page, those were two separate systems nagging you on their own schedules. Now they're one worklist. It's split into Signals, Requests, and Offboarding tabs, so a busy plate doesn't turn into an endless scroll. Each tab shows a count. The page opens on whichever tab actually has work waiting for you.
A request step on the Requests tab is the same card you got in Slack. You can answer it from either place. See Setting up workflows for where those steps come from.
Offboarding work is grouped by run. You get one card per person you're helping offboard. Each card has its own Needs action / Done split, so you can see what's still open without hunting through what you've already closed out.
How you're reminded
You don't have to remember to check this page. Every day you have something open, Stacktic sends you a Slack DM, "Still waiting on you". It lists every open item, with a button to act on each one. It starts the day an item opens. It keeps going daily for as long as that item stays open. You get one digest, not one ping per item. Request steps aren't part of the digest: their Slack card is the reminder.
The digest groups your items into sections, in this order:
- Needs a tap: work that's already fully worked out, so one click finishes it.
- Offboarding tasks land here, with their Done button.
- So do Signals where Stacktic has a suggestion ready, such as "Suggested: Watch" on a pending tool. These have Approve and Not this buttons right in the message.
- Suggested identity mappings for a tool (who a login belongs to) always show as one row with a count, even if there's only one. The row has a Review batch link to that tool's Access tab, where you approve them.
- Needs your judgement: everything Stacktic can't answer for you. That covers Signals with no suggestion, and contractor accountability gaps.
A section with nothing in it doesn't appear.
The top of the Home page shows how many of your items fall in each section. That way you can see what's waiting without opening Slack. Home counts everything you have open. So it can be higher than the digest when a busy week holds some new items back. It also shows a third count, Done for you, for work Stacktic will eventually handle on its own. That one stays at zero for now.
If you're an Owner: contractor gaps
Owners also get one more kind of item in the same digest: a contractor with an accountability gap. That means nobody is sponsoring them, or their engagement end date has passed.
These come from the contractor banner on the People page, not from /my/tasks. The row's Review button opens that contractor's profile, where you set the sponsor or the end date. Every Owner gets the same rows. The first one to fix the gap clears it for everyone.
If something sits too long
An item that's been open for a while stops being just your problem. Ten days after it opens, an unresolved item also posts to a shared channel visible to admins. It posts again every ten days after that. This is on top of your daily DM, not instead of it.
Contractor gaps are the exception. Every Owner is already reminded about them, so there's nobody further up to tell. They stay in the daily digest only.
The idea is that accountability shouldn't quietly decay just because something's been open for a month. The longer an item sits, the more visible it gets, not less.
Snoozing an item
Not every item is something you can act on right now. If you're not ready to deal with one yet, you can snooze it:
- On a Signal: use the Snooze button on its digest row or detail page.
- On an offboarding task: use Pause reminders, which asks for how long and why.
- Contractor gaps can't be snoozed. Fixing the gap is what clears them.
A snoozed item stops nagging you until the snooze runs out. But it doesn't stop existing. The moment it comes back, it picks up its reminder schedule right where it left off. It's still counted by its real age, not by when you last dealt with it.
